Let’s Remake the World with Words

“Let’s remake the world with words”

Written by Gregory Orr

Let’s remake the world with words.
Not frivolously, nor
To hide from what we fear,
But with a purpose.

Let’s,
As Wordsworth said, remove
“The dust of custom” so things
Shine again, each object arrayed
In its robe of original light.

And then we’ll see the world
As if for the first time,
As once we gazed at the beloved
Who was gazing at us.

“““““““““““““““

Let’s remake the world with words. Let us come together in kindness and intentional speech. Let us affect the energy that surrounds us with strength and dignity. Let us read with intention, write with intention, and speak with meaning.

Let us use words to lift up our neighbors, strangers and friends.

Let us take actions to reflect our words, and be a source of good in this tumultuous time. Let us teach our children to be wise and discerning. Let their character shine through their words, as ours should shine through us.

With Divine speech and intention, the world came into being. From Ohr/Light to Hoshech/ Darkness. Shalom/ Peace and Ha-kol/ everythingness. It comes from words.

We hold the power of creation with our words. And with our silence.

Our silence speaks in place of our words.

Let us find ways to use our words to create. And our silence a place to hold the reverberations of our voices and the voices of those around us.

Let us remake the world with words.

I find this beautiful and I am going to reflect on it a lot. Thank you, Melanie. “Thank you” are two words we should all use often.

Thank you, Melanie. We are the only living things to have received the gift of words from HaShem.

On this day, three years ago, hundreds of neo-Nazis & white supremacists marched in Charlottesville, Virginia–a beautiful city, home of the famous University of Virginia–shouting racist slogans like “Jews will not replace us,” “death to mud people,” “Blood and Soil,” “Russia is our friend,” “Dixie,” and “The Whites Rise Again.” Today, a Black & Asian-American woman, with a Jewish spouse, was chosen to be the candidate for VP. I’m proud that our country can rise above the bigotry and hatred of a vocal, mindless minority. MAGA THIS TIME, FOR REAL.AMEN.
