Join us for a new antiracism course this spring:
We’re excited to announce that Kabbalah Experience is collaborating with Congregation Beth Evergreen and Judaism Your Way on a new program, Dismantling Racism from the Inside Out (DRIO). The class will be offered five consecutive Sunday afternoons from April 23 through May 21 both virtually and in person at Congregation Beth Evergreen in Evergreen, Colorado.
Our guides, Rabbi Caryn Aviv, Rabbi Jamie Arnold, and Marilyn Saltzman are DRIO Trained Facilitators. We are thrilled long-time KE student and community educator, Gwen Crawford, will also be facilitating this series.
Learn concrete Jewish spiritual tools to confront, subvert, and heal implicit and internalized racism within ourselves and others, supporting the collective organizing, advocacy, and service efforts to dismantle racism systemically.
Efforts to dismantle racism are often composed of education, advocacy, and systemic change. These efforts are not enough —it’s crucial that we also do the inner work necessary to change our habits of mind, body, and spirit to wholly dismantle racism. We have ancestral wisdom available to support this change. Mussar is the Jewish spiritual discipline designed to integrate what the head understands with what the heart feels through daily practice. Emerge from this program with a regular spiritual practice and a set of concrete tools to support your antiracism efforts.
This course was developed by Yehudah Webster and Rabbi David Jaffe of The Inside Out Wisdom and Action (IOWA) Project and the Kirva Institute, a network of activists, educators, and spiritual leaders in the Jewish community that supports activists in exploring Jewish spiritual wisdom and developing Jewish spiritual practice.
