Special Classes and Electives
Over the past 20 years we have integrated into our study many of the premier short form talks found on TED and ELI (Jewish themed) enhancing our Kabbalah studies. These talks, around 18 minutes, will be the catalyst for us delving into a variety of topics from identity to consciousness, to our interconnectedness, creativity and our ability to forgive.
Wednesdays 10-11:15am Mountain Time / 12pm Eastern with (Class Meets: April 15, 22, 29, May 6, 13, 20, June 3, and 10 – no class May 27)
This series challenges the notion of religion as an inherently conservative, tribalistic force in society with a study of a recent book by maverick rabbi, Rami Shapiro. Rabbi Rami’s theology, like that of teachers like rabbis Abraham Joshua Heschel, Zalman Schacter-Shlomi, and Arthur Green, is steeped in kabbalah. In his book “Judaism without Tribalism: A Guide to Being a Blessing to All the Peoples of the Earth” we get a glimpse of how religion infused with a kabbalistic sensibility might look.
Participants will be asked to purchase their own copy of the book, and bring a willingness to re-examine religion through a modern kabbalistic lens.
This class will be offered virtually through Zoom only (not offered in-person)
Fridays 9:30-11:00am Mountain Time/ 11:30am Eastern (Class Meets: April 24, May 1, 8, 15, 22, 29, June 5, and 12)
Musar is a moral-spiritual discipline, a system of character development, or soul-growth, that taps the well of Kabbalah and offers a framework and a toolkit for translating that ancient wisdom into a personalized, ongoing ethical discipline to improve ourselves and our world. This pragmatic and deeply personal study (and practice) of musar does a deep dive into the instructor’s own translation of a classical (16th Century) musar text called Orchot Tzaddiqim or “Pathways of Moral Leadership.” This winter’s session will study the chapter on the very first emotion mentioned in the Bible, bushah – often translated as ‘shame.’ Drawing upon the contemporary insights of Dr. Brown on this topic will offer us a fresh lens through which to understand various forms of self-conscious emotional discomfort [shame?] and harness it for good.
Classes are offered in-person and virtually through Zoom

Dr. David Sanders, Spiritual Director of Kabbalah Experience, has been guiding people for the last 25 years to recognize themselves through the masks and metaphors of their lives.
Working with David offers you an in-depth individual spiritual mentorship through the lens of the Kabbalah’s teachings on masks and metaphors.
The potency of patterns that are revealed through an analysis of your answers to The Mask and Metaphor Workbooks brings awareness to the “why” of your life choices.
What is meant by a mask?
Mask is a neutral term descriptive of the content of our lives: our bodies, our personal selves, our cultural-ethnic-religious selves and any chosen identification or affiliation. As humans we will always be masked. Becoming aware of our masks is a liberating process that traverses the continuum of psychology and spirituality and impacts how we see ourselves and how we present ourselves to others.
What is meant by a metaphor?
Root metaphors act as the underlying worldview that shapes an individual’s understanding of their life. It includes our self-perceptions, how we “operate” in relationships, the work we engage in and what we value and hold sacred.
Five Sessions:
Preparation: Fill out and submit The Mask Workbook, The Metaphor Workbook (including The Cube Personality Test (Total prep time: 1.5 hours)
