This semester, I am a teaching a new class, Creative Journey through the Sefirot. This course is inspired by Rabbi Adina Allen’s non-profit organization, The Jewish Studio Project, and her book, The Place of All Possibility.
It has been so enlightening to study the sefirot in depth with our class, and take time to create images, writing, and music, around what sticks or is evoked through this text immersion, personal reflection, and discussion.
We are immersed in our journey through the Omer count—This week is the week of Netzach… Netzach holds endurance, hope, perseverance, and tenacity. Netzach is when we look at our vision, and understand there will be bumps in the road.
Netzach is embodied in our right hip, the leg we step out with first regardless of the path ahead.
Netzach is finding a way to persevere, go around over or though the mountain, to problem-solve. Internal locus of control- I can and I will. Life doesn’t happen for me, life happens because of me.
Netzach is choosing to pursue a new career or relationship, and sticking with that goal, in spite of (or perhaps because of) bumps in the road.
Creating the life you want. Believing the best choice exists with the array of infinite possibility. The outcome will appear, like Nachshon in splitting of the sea.
Netzach is potential energy- held tightly within a spring. It swirls within possibility. Endurance. Step by step by step.
Netzach is getting out of bed even if you don’t want to. One day at a time.
Irises sprouting out of the early spring ground.
Stick-with-it-ness.
Travel safely.
With love,
Melanie
